How It Works
We perform laser hair removal at our Southern California offices using GentleLASE® laser technology. This laser releases rapid pulses of energy that penetrate the skin, targeting hair follicles that are in the active growth phase. This system uses the patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD™) to maximize patient safety and comfort. The laser’s energy is absorbed only by the hair follicle, which is destroyed by the heat of the laser.
Only follicles in the active growth phase are affected, and only a percentage of follicles are in a growth phase at any one time. Thus a series of 4 to 6 treatments spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart is usually recommended to achieve optimal hair reduction. The length of each session will vary depending on the size of the area to be treated, and can range from 10 to 60 minutes. Laser hair removal treatments are typically performed by one of our Registered Nurses or Physician Assistants under the supervision of a dermatologist.
