Malia Sering is a compassionate and dedicated Physician Assistant serving patients across San Diego and Riverside counties, offering personalized and compassionate care to address a wide range of dermatological concerns.
Malia completed her undergraduate studies at California State University San Marcos, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2002. During her time at university, she also worked as an elementary school science teacher with the P.I.S.C.E.S. fellowship, a partnership funded by the National Science Foundation and San Diego State University, aimed at integrating science education into elementary schools in San Diego County. Additionally, she volunteered with the Flying Samaritans, traveling to Mexico to provide healthcare to those in need.
Malia's growing interest in medicine led her to work as an ophthalmic technician, where she gained further experience in healthcare. She then broadened her medical expertise by volunteering at USC/LA County Emergency Department. This extensive hands-on experience paved the way for her to attend the Physician Assistant Program at the College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University, where she received her Master of Medical Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2007.
Her interest in dermatology and surgery brought her to Dermatology Specialists in 2007, where she completed a year-long training in general and surgical dermatology. Since then, Malia has been a valued member of the DSI team, providing individualized and compassionate care to her patients. She is dedicated to addressing a wide range of dermatological needs, ensuring each patient receives the highest level of care.
A North County native, Malia was born and raised in Southern California. She currently resides in Bonsall with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, exercising, music, sports, traveling, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
